Being the daughter of Tineke Bartels, Imke Schellekens-Bartels (1977) had the best training a dressage rider could wish for. Imke belongs to the absolute top of the world as a rider as well as a coach. She had her most recent success with Toots, who was sold to Japanese Akane Kuroki just before the Rio Olympic Games. Meanwhile Imke became very successful as a trainer. Toots is still at the stables at Academy Bartels where Imke coaches the combination. In the summer of 2016 Toots made his debut with Akane Kuroki at the Rio Olympic Games. Currently Toots is still competing successfully in Grand Prix. Imke graduated as ‘top coach level 5’ at the KNHS.
