Welfare and good health
Several horse owners have given their talented horses to the Academy to be trained to the highest possible level.
Academy Bartels has trained many horses up to Grand Prix level.
They participated at numerous international championships.
The training is based on the basis of the horse's welfare and good health.
Training facilities
The training facilities are unique with two indoor arenas, two outdoor arenas and a training oval of half a mile for warming up.
The Academy's 10 hectare Culitsrode park has paddocks and fields to relax and graze.
Modern facilities for artificial insemination are available for licensed stallion.
Riders
The riders are supervised by Tineke Bartels en Imke Schellekens - Bartels.
They both have trained Grand Prix horses. Daniëlle Koenders rides at Prix St Georges level.
Horses
The Academy has two Grand Prix horses, Hunter Douglas Sunrise and Melvin. The stallion Hunter Douglas OOSeven is currently being prepared for the Grand Prix.

The beautiful Hannoverian mare Hunter Douglas Sunrise and Imke are the rising stars. The combination finished in fifth place at the 2006 World Cup Final and became the 2006 National Dressage Champion.

Hunter Douglas Aachen (by Arpeggio x Coriograf) is a stallion approved by the Westphalian studbook and the NRPS. In 2005 he came to Academy Bartels as a four-year-old and appeared to be very talented. Imke and Hunter Douglas Aachen competed at the Stallion Competitions and the Pavo Cup Final. The dark brown stallion is praised for his beautiful looks, his charisma, elasticity and dedication. Although Hunter Douglas Aachen was bred to become a jumping horse, Imke personally trains him and it is expected that he will develop into a top dressage horse.

Black beauty Hunter Douglas Voice (by De Niro x Rohdiamant) was born in 2002 and is a KWPN approved stallion. Hunter Douglas Voice's mother is a half sister of Hunter Douglas OOSeven, so Hunter Douglas Voice is Hunter Douglas OOSeven's nephew. Hunter Douglas Voice excels in his willingness to work. In addition to the fact that he is absolutely gorgeous, he is happy and very reliable. The stallion has been at Academy Bartels since the summer of 2006 and was very successful in the Pavo-Cup Final for Four-year olds. Hunter Douglas Voice will take part in the stallion competition. The foal report which was published in the autumn of 2006 was very positive. Hunter Douglas Voice will be trained by Imke, who has an excellent horse for the future in Hunter Douglas Voice.

This mare (by. Krack C x Orakel) is owned by Academy Bartels and is being trained by Tineke. Hunter Douglas Toscana moves with much expression. Just like Sunrise, Hunter Douglas Toscana had her problems when she arrived at Academy Bartels. Although Hunter Douglas Toscana is fairly dominant and has trouble relaxing, her appearance is beautiful and her talent unlimited. With the right training Hunter Douglas Toscana has the potential to become an absolute top horse.

GESTIONNEKE
Gestionneke is a Bergman pony, bred by Stal Zegwaard and is a friendly companion for the Grand Prix horses at Academy Bartels. Gestionneke was a gift of the National Dressage Team (Anky van Grunsven, Arjen Teeuwissen, Edward Gal, Ellen Bontje) and Teamsponsor Ad Strating for Imke and Joep's wedding.
