Information:
Imke started her career with Mexican and Allegretto. She won gold and silver team medals during the European Championships Juniors and
Young Riders and Imke also won an individual bronze medal twice. Since 1997 Imke competes as a senior rider. With Barbria Imke
participated in the World Cup Final twice. After her secondary school Imke trained with Kyra Kyrklund in Sweden. Imke graduated
in Deurne where she did the Master Class. She received high scores for dressage ánd jumping.
When Imke started to compete as a senior, she was sponsored by Gestion. Imke is trained by her mother Tineke. Since 1997 she
also ocassionally trains with Anky van Grunsven. In 2003 Imke started competing at Grand Prix level with Luxaflex. This gelding
was also ridden by Tineke at Grand Prix level. 2004 was a revolutionary year for Imke. She and Gestion Lancet started in their
first Grand Prix in January. In March they won their first international competition in 's Hertogenbosch. Victories in Hickstead
and Rotterdam followed. Imke was on the reserve list for the Dutch team for the Olympic Games. Because Gestion Lingh had an injury
Edward Gal could not travel to the Olympics and within 24 hours Imke had to pack all her stuff and fly to Athens. Imke's Olympic
dream finished with an admirable eleventh place with a average score of 72%.
In oktober 2004 Gestion Lancet was sold to the British rider Emma Hindle. Imke also competes with Hunter Douglas OOSeven in the small tour.
Hunter Douglas OOSeven is a stallion by Rubinstein and he won the AMEV-Hippo Cup for young horses in 2002.
A year later Hunter Douglas OOSeven won the Young Stallion competition.
In 2004 Hunter Douglas OOSeven won the Pikeur Trophy, a competition for riders under the age of 30 on small tour level.
Imke now competes on Grand Prix level with her mare Sunrise. Before Sunrise competed on small tour level with Tineke.
They became fourth during the National Championships in 2004. Imke and Sunrise already won in Hickstead and Wiesbaden.
In 2006 she won the National Championship and finished fifth in the World Cup Final.
Imke also competes at Grand Prix level with Melvin (v. Flemmingh). The Academy is co-owner of Melvin.
